Directioner Diaries: Chapter 2

Did you like the first chapter? Well, here's the continuation...

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“Liam?” I murmured, bowing my head. This time, I had been sitting on the chair Liam had sat on so many years ago, and Liam, he was sitting on the hospital bed. Liam looked up and smirked, “What’s up, Niall?”

       “Well… I just wanted to know…”

I was getting tensed up. I didn’t know whether I wanted to know. What if he said no? Yet I wanted to know. Did he, or did he not, love me? I was in a dilemma. Ultimately, I shot him the question.

       “Liam, do you…like me?”

“Like you? Hahas, Niall, I love you! You’re the best mate I’ve ever had!” he grinned, patting me on the shoulder. At that juncture, my heart melted. “Really?!” My mind blanked out, I couldn’t describe the relief I felt. I felt as if a huge burden had lifted off my shoulders.

“Why of course! Why wouldn’t anyone love a Niall?” he chucked, his eyes twinkled. My heart fluttered, I was delirious! I had confirmed it, Liam loved me! At that moment, I hugged Liam as tight as I ever could. I never wanted to let go.

Who knew, Zayn had been watching everything.

Two days later, Liam left the hospital. Zayn always watched Liam from afar. But he constantly avoided him too, Zayn started waking up later. And when he came for rehearsals, he usually had red puffy eyes. Everyone could notice.

Once we were finally alone backstage, I plucked up the courage to ask Zayn   what was wrong. At that moment, Zayn shifted uncomfortably. “It’s… it’s nothing,” he looked away, “It’s just a cold.” I knew it wasn’t the cold. Zayn was one of the worst liars I had ever known.

       “Zayn, I know something’s wrong!” I protested.

He looked like he was about to tell me something. Something important. He gulped. His shifty eyes told me he was hiding something. Out of the blue, he dashed out the door.

       He never came back.

Niall, I’m so disappointed. The words shot me. How could you let him go off? Why didn’t you chase after him? Liam was very cross. Zayn was missing. The management was furious. Harry and Louis, they just stayed very quiet. Everyone gathered around the short glass coffee table.

Liam had been sitting across me. He leaned forward and shot me a million questions and I was too lost to answer a single one. Liam was reprimanding me. I had never felt so bad in my life.

“Why aren’t you saying anything guys?” Liam craned his neck to face Lou and Hazza. They just looked down. They were hiding something. But I guess Liam’s death stare got it out of them..

“Liam,” Harry blurted, he turned to meet my gaze but switched back, “Zayn left because…”

“He likes you, Liam, he loves you.” Lou completed.

Liam gasped. He buried his face in his hands.

       Another burden.

First it was Danielle, now this. Liam couldn’t take it anymore. He had caused so many problems.

“We didn’t want you guys to know. That day me and Harry saw Zayn sitting at the edge of the hospital. He was about to jump Liam. He’s crazy about you.” Lou continued.

       My heart crumbled.
